The Benjamin Canlas Courage to be Kind Foundation, Inc. (TBCCTBKF) guarantees the safety, well-being, and rights of all beneficiaries or clients of its services. TBCCTBKF strives to cultivate a secure environment and uphold professionalism, respect, and ethical conduct in every client interaction.

B. Principles In Client Protection

TBCCTBKF adheres to the fundamental principles of—kindness, accountability, respect, and empowerment—as follows:

1. Kindness: This principle involves demonstrating empathy and actively participating in the promotion of well-being for all TBCCTBKF clients. Our approach to addressing clients' needs is characterized by a genuine sense of care and thoughtful consideration.

2. Accountability: TBCCTBKF upholds accountability by taking responsibility for its actions and decisions regarding clients. Clear responsibilities are established to ensure all staff and internal stakeholders are answerable for client interactions. Transparent reporting mechanisms are also provided.

3. Respect: TBCCTBKF embodies respect by recognizing and valuing the dignity and rights of its clients. The foundation acknowledges the uniqueness of each client, fostering an inclusive and accepting atmosphere.

4. Empowerment: This principle involves supporting clients in making informed decisions and actively participating in problem-solving to address their issues. TBCCTBKF also acknowledges the strengths and capacities of each client, helping them develop coping abilities and resilience.

C. Equal Treatment in Service Delivery

In providing services, TBCCTBKF strongly abstains from any form of discrimination, including, but not limited to, those based on ethnicity, age, disability, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or age.

D. Consent and Confidentiality in Client Interactions

TBCCTBKF ensures the confidentiality of client information and obtains informed consent from clients before service provision. This practice promotes open and honest communication regarding the services offered. Access to all client information is strictly limited to authorized staff, ensuring the highest level of confidentiality. Unless required by law, disclosure to third parties is prohibited without their express consent.

This Client Protection Policy complies with all applicable laws and regulations governing client protection.

DONOR PROTECTION POLICY

A. Policy Statement

TBCCTBKF shall accept only those donations that will enable it to further its vision and mission, consistent with its core values, and applicable laws, administrative rules and regulations. Otherwise, TBCCTBKF reserves the right to decline such gifts or donations.

B. Receipts and Substantiation

All donations received by TBCCTBKF, whether in cash or in kind, shall be properly documented. In relation to this, TBCCTBKF shall provide documentation to all its donors containing such information as may be required by applicable laws and administrative rules and regulations.

C. Confidentiality

TBCCKF may collect, process, and maintain personal or sensitive information voluntarily provided by donors or sponsors. As such, the TBCCTBKF ensures that it complies with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its implementing rules and regulations. Any personal and/or sensitive information obtained from or about donors and prospective donors shall be held in the strictest confidence by TBCCTBKF and its directors, officers, staff, and volunteers. If the donor indicates his or her gift should be considered anonymous, neither the name of the donor nor the amount of the gift shall be published without the written consent and/or approval of the donor. Nevertheless, TBCCTBKF may share a donor’s personal and/or sensitive information with government agencies or other regulatory bodies and law enforcement officials, if required by law.

TRANSPARENCY POLICY

A. Policy Statement

Accountability is one of the core values of TBCCTBKF. As such, TBCCTBKF ensures that it is fully accountable and transparent in all its actions and dealings with donors, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders. The foundation shall maintain open and transparent communication with donors, sponsors, partners, volunteers, staff, and beneficiaries.

B. Safeguarding Clients

TBCCTBKF implements transparent and easily accessible reporting mechanisms to enable clients to express concerns, provide feedback, or report misconduct or rights violations. The foundation is dedicated to preventing and addressing exploitation, abuse, or harassment of clients by staff, volunteers, or other clients.

C. Reporting and Documentation

TBCCTBKF recognizes its accountability to donors, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders as to the manner on how the donations are spent. TBCCKF commits to be transparent about the use of the donations for the intended project. TBCCTBKF shall document policies, engage auditors for an annual financial audit, and manage resources responsibly for program effectiveness.
